"High-maintenance means
You're a gluttonous queen
Narcissistic and mean."

- Love me dead, Ludo.

Name: Penelope DuCourdray
Birthname: Diana Sinclair
Nickname(s): Penelo, Mad March
Age: She is physically twelve, though mentally she is twenty-two.
Birthday: March 23rd
Zodiac sign: Aries
Height: 144.8 cm (4"9')
Weight: 38 kg (85lbs)
Race: Human
Ethnicity: French
Occupation: Pandora agent. Her duty is to question illegal contractors brought into custody
Contracted with: The "Haigha" / Previously contracted illegally with The Whiting.
Marital status: Single
Family: Helen Sinclair (Mother), Florence Sinclair (Father), Belle Sinclair (Older sister), Hannah Sinclair (Older sister), Emily Sinclair (Younger sister)

Appearance: Penelope appears to be a young girl around the age of twelve. She has scruffy looking blonde hair that reaches just past the curve of her chin and clings to the sides of her cheeks. She is very small in stature and is a bit chubby around her face, being that her aging process came to an abrupt halt around the time her body began to change. Penelo, when put next to any adult figure, is obviously much shorter than they are, almost shockingly so. She has a very childish look about her and is the image of a typical child, though the constant sour look she has on her face takes away that "childish innocence" quality she could very well have.

Penelope is paralyzed from the waist down, and so she is always stuck in her wheelchair if she is not vegetating (by choice) in bed. Despite her disabled state, she has many different outfits of various colors and lengths. One outfit she commonly wears is a light pink dress that reaches just above her knees. Within the mix of ruffles and layers of skirts are black and white colors collided with the general pink color. She has both striped pink and white stockings and arm-warmers, topped off with plenty of various bows in her hair and on her dress. To top it all off, she wears plain black buckled shoes with black bows on the fronts of them.

Personality: The first thing anybody will notice about Penelope is that she doesn't hesitate in speaking whatever is on her mind, whether it be good or bad.

Penelo is an incredibly blunt person who isn't afraid to speak her mind. She firmly believes that hiding one's true feelings will only lead to further travesty and anger, even if lying to someone's face at the moment seems like a better solution at that very second. Because of her negative outlook on people and life in general, her thoughts tend to be distorted and crude, leading her to offend many people she comes across. Penelo doesn't care to get to know people and claims that she does not judge them, either, and instead says that she simply doesn't like getting close to people, and will tell them that without thinking of the consequences brought afterwards.

She has a rotten personality to go along with her demented way of thinking. She is blatantly cruel, taking "brutal honesty" to the next level. She uses swear words without a dab of hesitance, and indulges in many vulgar behaviors. She often throws inappropriate sexual innuendos at people to make them uncomfortable for her own twisted amusement, and uses curse words in the same manner. Her vulgarity is evident in more ways than one, as she practices poor hygiene and keeping without somebody taking care of her. She is shown not to care about her appearance or the way she acts, even if it means somebody other than her takes the embarrassment she causes for herself. She does not care for the feelings of others, and will crush their feelings into the dirt with a smile on her face. As she always "preached" — bestial honesty was far better than lying to somebody's face. She is also a depraved glutton and eats far more than she should.

Penelope is not very educated and is a bit dull when it comes to scholastic matters, such as reading and writing. She can only read and write at a level much lower than her own. Because of this, Penelo was given a job to deal with criminals for her display of shameless cruelty and ability to persuade somebody to tell her the information needed instead of dealing with paperwork at Pandora. Despite her lack of knowledge when it comes to pens and paper, she isn't stupid when it comes to people. She is very guarded and has a wall up, sheltering herself from other humans. This again, leads to her dislike of humanity, and trusts nobody.

Almost nobody.

One person who can open up her sheltered heart is Reim Lunettes, who is her keeper and near unwilling advocate. Though still akin with maliciousness, she is not outwardly cruel with Reim and can talk casually with him without feeling compelled to tear him to shreds with her words. She often snaps at him and repeatedly calls him dirty and vulgar names— and has him wrapped around her pinky finger, but she truly cares for him and is deeply possessive of him. She thinks of him as her property and has even considered literally eating him so he would stay with her forever (she feels this way about Break, as well), but is honestly protective of him and would tear down anybody who would dare to lay a finger on him.

Which leads to her loyalty to those she considers family. Tying in with her past once more, Penelo holds family above everything else. She loves her family and would go to great lengths to protect them, even if it meant her own death (shown when she illegally contracts the Whiting). Penelo considers Reim her family (though she would never admit to this), and truly does care for him more than she shows. She displays her affection and how much she truly cares for him at Isla Yura's party when he disappears. Penelope here looks for Reim and runs into Lacus Baskerville, whom she beats with a pipe until she gives the information that Reim had been "killed" by a fellow Baskerville. Penelope's more defensive and vulnerable side of her personality is shown as she runs to the scene and begins to scream and cry upon watching the Baskerville's leave the scene and encounters Reim's breathing corpse. Though he was shown to be alive, Penelo does not acknowledge the fact and continues to scream his name at the top of her lungs.

It is obvious that when she is triggered, Penelo loses her psyche and completely breaks down. She is subtly unstable, though only shows this when encountered with the sight of blood, opportunity to kill/torture (when "questioning" criminals at Pandora) and any mentions of her family.

History: She used to be a Princess.

She was born with the name Diana Sinclair as the third daughter of the noble Sinclair family underneath Florence and Helen Sinclair. She grew up with everything a girl could ever ask for, and was just about as bright as the sun itself. One couldn't find Diana without a childish smile on her face, and always seemed to be pleased with herself and those around her. She was an optimistic child who prided herself on being able to make people smile when they were feeling down with a case of the blues.

A man called Kevin Regnard, she noticed as she grew up, had a major case of the blues. Setting off to change this, she slowly grew closer and closer to the knight with the cursed red eyes. Diana never found herself dwelling over his crimson eyes, and simply pushed away the fact that the colors of his eyes were supposed to bring misfortune and tragedy. She felt happiest when she was Kevin, who helped her with her studies and even taught her a little bit about sparing when they were not under watchful eyes. She found herself developing a crush on him, as she recognized her feelings were happiest when she was with Kevin, other than being with her family. It of course didn't matter that his eyes were said to bring death and trouble, as she only saw him as the person he was underneath his crass smile and black cloak.

It was determined from the time Diana turned twelve that she would marry this man, as her father had decided Kevin would be somebody appropriate to court her. It was a planned, arranged marriage, of course, as she wouldn't be getting married until the age of consent. Diana was obviously excited beyond anything else, not yet old enough to process what it really meant to be married, and only knew this meant that she would be with Kevin forever, which made her happier than anything.

Her happiness rested within her family and Kevin until the illusion that was a perfect world was shattered to pieces.

One day while returning from a trip into town with Kevin and her younger sister, Emily, the whole family was slaughtered. An opposing nobility, they were told the next day as they mourned. The funeral came and passed, and Diana could only think of the fact that her family had died. Before her family's death, Diana hadn't known what it truly meant to be dead. She never thought of death, as no child lingered on such a grim subject. She was truly torn by this, and couldn't handle the thought of losing more people close to her. Only a few days after her family's passing, Emily, Kevin, and herself had gone to visit the coffins of their family. Kevin had ultimately made the decision to set off on a quest in which he didn't spare details, and left the two children crying and alone. Diana, shaking and trembling as she watched Kevin leave— quickly promised Emily she would be back and ran after Kevin.

Diana managed to catch up with Kevin, who hadn't left the Sinclair grounds yet. Being a young child along with being heavily attached to the man, she begged him to stay with Emily and herself. He told her repeatedly that he would be back, that he would return to both Emily and herself with what he called a "surprise", as if trying to soothe her crying the best way he could, in a way she could understand. Intrigued and still clinging to him persistently, she pushed to ask what the surprise was. He explained that he needed to do a few "bad things" in order to restore happiness, but that it would be worth it in the end.

The unimaginable happened, however, when Diana pressed further and begged him to take Emily and herself with him. He refused initially, of course, thinking that the situations in which he was about to plunge himself into were completely inappropriate and unbearable for children to go through. But he cared for her, and she was crying so heavily, sniffling and hiccupping and begging him with wide eyes not to leave her— and so he made her promise him something. He told her that they would have to leave Emily behind, and that he would take her with him, if she promised to behave and stick to what he instructed. She agreed naturally, though concerned with leaving her little sister behind, but clung to what Kevin said with confidence.

Happiness would be restored, and as Kevin later explained, that happiness was getting her family back.

It started off slowly. Kevin would leave her alone in small sheds in the woods and promise that he would return soon, and he always did, though covered in blood. It made her absolutely sick, but she repeated in her head that it was just a few bad things. Only a few bad things would happen. She wanted to help him more than anything and even told him so, though he snapped in a way she had never seen, telling her that she must never follow what he was doing, reminding her of the promise she made to him. This came tumbling down when one night after Kevin went out to do a few "bad things"— a devil came to whisper in her own ears.

A chain called The Whiting tempted her with its words of persuasion, whispering to the young Princess that she would be great use to Kevin, and that she would help bring her family back quicker. It didn't take much manipulation to get Diana to contract with The Whiting, and by the time Kevin had returned, she had already sealed the deal with an illegal blood contract.

Kevin, absolutely infuriated by her reckless decision— immediately regretted his decisions when Diana herself began unspeakable acts of crime. The Whiting's hold over her played a big part in the crimes in which she committed at the beginning, but as time went on, she hardly needed the persuasion of The Whiting. Though Kevin was honestly concerned and loathing himself for thinking he could take the girl along without her getting hurt, he found that he needed to teach her to protect herself. Finding the smallest weapon he could, a small axe— and gradually taught her the basics on how to use it. The more she learned, the more the little girl craved to kill. What was once an aspiration to save her family became something far more than that. Diana began to enjoy the feeling of killing another human being, even indulging in acts of torture and cannibalism. She was sinking deeper and deeper as the seal of her contract ticked on, as more and more people fell victim to the "Red Eyed Ghost."

Kevin, seeing that girl he pulled into this situation, saw that she was slipping. He knew he was slipping, as well— but could only see the girl who welcomed his red eyes so easily fading away and becoming something twisted. A monster. And in order to save her from herself, he took matters into his own hands, and sent her hurtling over the edge of a cliff to her death.

She was never yanked into the Abyss, though Kevin certainly had days after Diana's death at his hands. Once in the Abyss, he had asked the Intention of the Abyss to change the past and bring back those who had died in exchange for anything she desired. She granted his wish in the end, and changed the past just as he and Diana had strove for. Though this past he had so yearned for was the exact opposite of what he had expected, and was just as twisted, if not worse, as it began.

Diana's fate was changed and her life was spared, tumbling from the Abyss more than fifty years later at the gate of the Barma Dukedom. Her body crippled madly and bleeding profoundly, she had barely made it through the process of being rid and healed of the jagged rocks that stuck through her flesh. And though she ended up living, she was a completely different person from the time she opened her mouth to speak. Crude, vile, and all around unpleasant. On top of that, she began to call herself not by her name of birth she had so fought for, but by the name of Penelope DuCourdray. After all, criminals could not let those little things be revealed.

Powers/Abilities:
- She is skilled with small weapons.
- Reim and Penelope both are contracted through "Hare" chains. Reim is contracted to The March Hare while Penelope is contracted to The Haigha (pronoucned "Hare"). Both chains are useless in battle, as both of their contractors can easily be deemed useless (Reim a human stepping stone and Penelope paralyzed from the waist down), though their chains give both benefits in dire situations for "random amounts of time", as Reim describes. Through the Hare chains, Reim possess the ability to "play dead", while Penelope is able to walk on her otherwise paralyzed legs. The Hare chains can also correspond if summoned at the same time to keep the effect strong and for a long amount of time. The March Hare is a large chain whilst The Haigha is a smaller chain, being a reflection of Reim and Penelope's stature. Duke Barma describes their relationship as a mere "Use me, use you, 'chain connection.'"

Important Extras:
- On the topic of Break, she loves him so much she hates him. He was her precious fiancé, after all, but he did send her hurtling off the edge of a cliff. Her feelings on Break are very, very complicated, and will be elaborated on later!
- Her feelings on Sharon are also very complicated! Will touch on this later.
- Only Reim knows of her previous illegal contract, as he does everything for her, including bathing/dressing her. Duke Barma is assumed to know as well.
- She loves bread. Living on the streets in the time of her crimes, it was the cheapest and most common thing to find in the poor man's bakeries and trash cans.
- She has a cat called Pumpkin, who she also has a soft spot for. She does not harm animals and has never tried, claiming that they are "unworthy opponents, and do not scream as much."
- She's pretty emotionally sensitive and will crack if things don't go her way.
- She had long hair up until the last few days of her life, in which Kevin had to slice all her hair off due to tangles he could not pull from her hair. He sliced all of her hair off with his sword.
- On the topic of drastic things that happened at the time, she also had her twelfth birthday.
- She is a terrible chain smoker, and has never tried to kick the habit.
- Though Reim is her keeper, she was not under his care until three years after she fell from the Abyss.
- Like Break, her body is a bit weaker than normal because of the fact she has contracted to a chain two times. She's prone to sickness if she pushes herself. She becomes aware of this when around the time she first contracted The Haigha, she would use her ability every opportunity she got, which made her sick and bedridden for a few days. Since then, she only uses her chain's powers when the situation is dire.
- If she had a theme song, it would definitely be "Narcissistic Cannibal" by KoЯn.
